Friendship

It’s been a glorious day, weather-wise, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden in the shade this morning, having coffee with two of our oldest friends before they go off to Cornwall for their holiday. These roses, which are sitting on our kitchen windowsill, were a gift from them.

Not long after they left us, some devastating headlines started to appear on the news about a multiple stabbing of children and adults in Southport, Lancashire. I feel utterly devastated at the levels of violence of all kinds that the world is experiencing at the moment, it seems never ending and I am finding it so hard to remain hopeful for the future.
