T100
Our friends Steve and Jon were taking part in the London T100 (triathalon) today. John got up early to watch the swim but the girls and I slept in. We met John, and our friends (Steve and Jon's families) at 8am and ate breakfast in the hotel with this lovely view.
The masses went off in waves from 6:30 and the elite men set off at 2 o'clock (Elite women were yesterday). John was star struck to bump into Alistair Brown-Lee at breakfast and spoke to him very briefly! We were snooping on him to see what he was eating for his breakfast before an event, haha! The answer was lots of carbs!
After lots of breakfast, we went down to watch the T1 transition, then back to the room for a short while and back to watch the run. It was very hot but the spectator area was inside the Excel so nice and cool. The run was 6 loops so good for us to see them lots from one spot. The children occupied themselves doing cartwheels while we watched and cheered.
We didn't stay to watch the elites, but Alistair Brown-Lee came 8th. Home and worn out tonight, so bed now. Night night.
