Spent much of the day in the kitchen.  Shallots are now pickled and gooseberry ice cream has been made.
A little tip.  Make sure the base of the food processor making the gooseberry puree is secure.  If it is not then the liquid puree will pour out of the botton all over your clothes and all over the kitchen.  It makes an awful mess.
