Smoke drifts in and makes
the valleys grey, colourless
and so unpleasant

I got a late start this morning. It was almost 8 when I drove down the hill to the north shore.

I drove along Schubert Drive to the Lookout where I can get views on the North Thompson River.

I caught my mountains across the river to the east, the bridges to the north and the city to the south.

The blue tent was pitched below the road and the Rivers Trail just beyond the south edge of this little park. I'm not sure what the city would do with this. I don't know how well they are monitoring this area. "Camping" would not be authorized within the city. There is always the fear of fire.

This little park has a small set of plantings to give it some colour.  I was a bit disturbed to see someone had pulled out some of the black-eyed susans and left them strewn on the grass. What is the point of that?

I'm home for a quiet Sunday (or so I thought). A neighbour has just pushed his derelict sportscar out of his garage. It is running in the driveway loud and misfiring. He could have been more thoughtful at 9 AM on a Sunday.
