Where's Yvonne

An early start as Yvonne came to mine at 4.45am for a 4.55 pickup by Marion who'd left home at 4.30am to meet us for a sunrise, birthday swim.

It was joyful. After a quick shower we reconvened at Greggs for coffee and a croissant before parkrun.

Marion had picked up Finns size 10 running shoes by mistake and we were not too disappointed by a timekeeper no show, offering to do it together.

We were almost caught out by the speed of the first finisher who we clicked at the finish as we were about 150m away chatting. After we finished I checked the timing files for me and the volunteer who was on the line and I'd recorded the first three as being 1 second faster which made sense. By the fourth finisher Marion and I were at the finish and we were all in sync. Marion double counted number 4 but knew she'd done it. We then had a couple of children go through the funnel and a few other things happen but it was fun and all OK in the end.

Marion whizzed off for her next bit of birthday fun and I joined some of the group heading to Cologne parkrun later in the year for a coffee and cookie at the zoo.

A supermarket stop, pub 'taxi' for MrRIU and a visit to HQ filled the rest of the day before an early.night.
