Saturday

Today started with the good news that Louise is now a grandmother to a baby boy named Luca.

Then I took Florence to my hairdresser, Rachael. She's very fond of Florence having given her her first haircut 30 years ago and visited her whilst we were in Portsmouth recently. She changed the parting and took about an inch off the length. Really, you wouldn't know about the scars unless you had been told. They are still prominent and sore and bits of stitches are still coming away but that girl can grow hair at an alarming rate and has an abundance despite the shaved areas.

Florence's cousin, Oliver, was due to take her out this afternoon but she wasn't up to it.

Later, she and Clive put together the Terrarium kit that arrived yesterday.

There's a festival in fields behind us. We went last year and the year before but not this time. I can hear every single word of every song and am happy to listen from my bed. A beautiful night for such an event!
