Squamish Powwow, 2013

I took my Japanese wife to her first powwow today. A powwow is a Native American (First Nations here in Canada) festival for dancing, traditional crafts, foods, etc.

I am actually an aboriginal Canadian (Metis) and used to attend powwows before I moved to Japan 12 years ago. As we just moved to Canada in March, this was my first powwow in 12 years and it felt so good to be back home among great people, great dancing and great food! My wife really enjoyed it and told me she wants to go to the next powwow in 2 weeks :)
