Heritage listed

I went on a home visit today to a street that is heritage listed (only one side of the street). These modest residences were built following WWI for returning soldiers. However, the council got there a little too late (in my humble opinion). All the houses have been altered and there is no uniformity in their external appearances. One house has been bulldozed and replaced by a McMansion. All the residents want to build bigger houses and are frustrated by the heritage listing. There are some streets in Bankstown with beautiful rows of fibro houses (unspoilt) but I don't think they have heritage orders on them, maybe because they don't have historical interest. The house in the picture has had the least alterations.
