Letocetum, a Roman town

This lovely little site is by the A5 (Watling Street) and not far from Lichfield.

It was a thriving town as late as the second century, and has been carefully excavated. There’s a small museum, housing items found, and as part of the Festival of Archaeology 2024, they have offered guided tours and information.

It’s close to my home and was ideal to go and hear more about this local place. Having blue skies and a lovely day was a real bonus.
