Snapshots of my world

Clitheroe Castle Views.

You don't have to travel far to have an adventure and explore somewhere new.

Today Mum and I have explored Clitheroe. Somewhere we have been through at the end of a very soggy bike ride a couple of years ago. It was her "happy retirement ride" and I don't remember much about it other than the rain!!

We began at Brungerley Park to have a go at the Ribble Valley Sculpture Trail. The park wasn't the best maintained and the sculptures lacking due to some extremely overgrown sections hiding them. However, we enjoyed the walk alongside the river and it's always nice to have tried something different. :-)

We then walked from there through the town up to the castle. The castle is surrounded by lovely grounds and the views from the top are amazing across the beautiful hills which surround the town.

It was also great to meander through the streets and pop in the many independent shops. A real joy to see so many small businesses doing very well.

All in all, a super day out and a place I would certainly visit again...minus the Sculpture Trail! :-P
