Briar Touches People!

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Tonight it was Deadpool & Wolverine night!

Mo, Briar, Olivia, Manda, Jefe and me went to the IMAX cinema* to see it. And I loved how every time we get together the dynamic is slightly different depending on who is there. 

Olivia does not hang out with us that often, but she had put some effort in to get into the spirit of the thing. She does not care for Marvel films, but had watched "Deadpool" especially at the weekend. 

"Did you watch Deadpool 2?" I asked.

"I didn't want Marvel burn-out," she replied. 

I feel like it may take her some years to catch up to me.

This worried me when the film was on because it was STUFFED with references to other superhero films. And not the famous ones! In fact, the film seems to delight in referring to the most obscure, most dismissed Marvel films. They even refer to a Marvel film THAT WAS NEVER MADE. 

We are at Nerd Level 11 here, folks. 

I was in my element. 

So yes. We all loved it. I think. Olivia may have been humouring us. But I certainly came out of the film in such a good mood that I had to dance with Mr. Pool himself. 

No-one else would do it! I was so disappointed. 

"It's not really Ryan Reynolds, Symon," said Briar.

"Yes it is. Shut up," I advised her. 

Incidentally you may have seen in the extras that BRIAR IS TOUCHING PEOPLE NOW. She has started hugging Olivia and Fazzy! 

We have not hugged. I am unsure how comfortable she would be with this, so I have nicknamed her "Grabby" and told her I am unsure if I want her in MY personal bubble.
