Tanking energy

Taken at a few minutes before midnight, with 12 hours to go till Alina, Matteo & Co arrive.

Been a good day. MrB checked out my handwork - have to sand down the sides of the lid a bit as it is too "good" a fit or in other words, it's likely the bees will deposit their wax or propolis and make it very difficult to open up. Have now sanded & made it less tight. If Alina & Matteo are interested will put the off-spring in to the new full size hive tomorrow, otherwise on Monday.

Kathi came by and gave me a much needed haircut. Nice to be able to do it outdoors on the shaded terrace. Reminded me of haircuts over 50 years ago when the "barber" turned up on his bicycle. Haircut took place under the house (houses were on stilts in Trinidad with cars etc parked underneath in the shade) and set to work with his somewhat primitive electric shaver. I only remember screaming & crying. Today was not quite that bad! Thanks Kathi. Luna loves Kathi but today it had a negative side - Luna jumped at her car door & put a number of scratches in the paintwork. Although not deep, black paint shows all marks. Kathi's dad who is very fit around cars & has a fully equipped workshop, looked at it this evening & reckoned he would be able to polish them out. Hope he can but at worst we will have to make use of Luna's liability insurance.

Somehow didn't get around to much else, just relaxing & pottering around. Feeling good & positive and looking forward to tomorrow. Watching Sky News Press Preview for Sunday's newspapers - No "What a Scorcher" headlines but I hope you enjoyed today in the UK. Have a great Sunday.
