Homeward bound

But not before a last tramp across the island.
The rain and wind continued through the night and up until midday, after breakfast I unpitched my tent and put its soggy contents into bin liner before it went into the proper bag.
Straight down the middle of the island I was greeted by the highland cattle, horses, goats and sheep. A lone lapwings, juvenile peregrine and plenty of rowdy gulls.
The eastern coast path proved challenging after yesterday’s all day endurance hike, I was pleased to see some brightness and enjoy a warm beverage in the Island inn.
The afternoon was spent in recovery mode enjoying conversation and banter with staff and the lovely people who had become acquainted with each other.
A saunter down the hill to board the Oldenburg and a very gentle chug back to the mainland.
