Gerard Schwartz
Gina's iPad is filled to capacity with the pictures I have taken on our trip. My blips from here on in will be from my phone camera.
Our full day in Seattle was a busy one. We had a great breakfast with fantastic coffee of course. We walked thru the famous Pikes market, rode the ferry to Bainbridge Island and attended a performance by the Seattle Symphony. Pictured here is a gigantic painting of conductor, Gerard Schwartz, who recently retired after nearly 30 years. Back in the late 1960s, I studied trumpet with Gerry before he embarked on his conducting career. While in Seattle he was instrumental in having the beautiful concert hall built, made over 100 recordings and grew the subscribers base from 5000 to 35000. Mr Schwartz is a Jersey boy.
We will be riding the train tomorrow morning to San Francisco.
