Went to upholstery this morning. Had to machine stitch the piping to the front scrolls. Quite fiddly and need to be very accurate so that the stitching doesn't show . After that I started to attach the wadding and buckram to the scrolls using a lacing technique. Will probably finish this at home so that I can make a start on attaching the scrolls to the chair next week.
Came home to get changed as the sun had come out and I was too hot snd then set iff to Wirksworth to visit SL. It was supposed to be an hours drive but my satnav took me through the centre of Derby and I was held up a bit by heavy traffic.
S met me in the town and we eventually found somewhere for coffee. Just as we finished it started to drizzle so we walked up a very steep hill to the cottage . We decided to go into Cromford to the bookshop for a browse (blipped). Had a walk around the village in the drizzle and then went back for a cup of tea, hoping for the rain to stop so that we could go for a walk in the woods. Unfortunately though the rain got heavier on the way back so we had to abandon the idea of a walk so just stayed in and chatted. The cottage has a lovely view from the garden, but it was too misty to see anything. Had some supper with her and left just before 8. Watched the final of the sewing bee- I think Luke was definitely the best for that episode, but Pascha was the better sewer overall.
