I've been having a few problems with tyres on my car of late. On tyre with a nail in it and s - l - o - w - l - y letting air out. The other was a bit more of a problem.

Took the car to a tyre fitting bay in town, prepared to spend a fair few quid on two new tyres. Let us examine the tyres first, the receptionist said. So I did.

One of the fitters took the rubber off the wheel,  managed to get the nail out and plug the hole with proper stuff. The other tyre had been fitted  with a duff valve, which was duly replaced with a new one.

Toal cost? Just over £31. I'll certainly be back there in future.
