Puffin Poser

It’s a fortnight since I last visited the Bullers of Buchan mainly due to the rather miserable weather we have been enduring this summer.

Alas all of the guillemots and razorbills have departed already leaving only the kittiwakes, fulmars and puffins on the cliffs.

It was the puffins that I was looking for as they like the others will be departing soon.  This puffin looks as if it is deep in thought as it contemplates leaving its burrow and heading back out to sea for the winter months.

Hopefully it and many others will return safe and sound next spring.
