Wound up in Wexford

Evoy's Forge

Back blipping on morning of 24th.

In the morning, I drove to Wexford for a highly satisfactory meeting about starting up a flute choir in Wexford - looking forward to September!

On the way home, I took the opportunity to visit Evoy's Forge.  I pass the brown signs for this every time I go to Wexford, and had previously looked up the exact location.  The forge was restored in 1998, for the 200th anniversary of the rebellion, and is now slightly neglected.  I struggled to find the plaque, on the back wall of the little adjoining, very overgrown, grassy area, containing what is probably a capped off well.

But the memorial on the other side of the road, in extras, sent me down several rabbit holes on the Internet researching the Battle of New Ross, and other things that cropped up.  Including this rendition of a ballad that mentions many places we've driven past or through.

In the afternoon, Joe returned to spend more time paddling in our pond (second extra), replacing the pump, which stopped working a couple of weeks ago, and he had found to be faulty.  Hopefully the new one will last more than a couple of months!

And I pulled a whole trug full of weeds out of just one flower bed - two more to do!  But maybe not today, it's raining again as I blip.
