We had a great "free" walking tour of London, highly recommend these tours.  We do them all over Europe.  Basically you "tip" at the end of the tour based on how happy you were with the tour etc.  The tour guides show you all the general sights but also a lot more hidden gems and they are free to give opinions, thoughts etc on the city, country etc.
