Time For The Shag
The picture doesn’t do justice for just how dusty I was. I mowed today for the first time in about four weeks. We live on a country gravel road, it hasn’t rained in a month, and it’s farming season. The dust is epic. I have mowed this property for 37 years next month, and today was THE dustiest I have ever been, not even close. I started to wear a mask, but my goggles fogged up, so I saved my eyes rather than my lungs. It was a brutal 3 1/2 hours of dust eating.
Tom and I crack up at a commercial here for a retirement home in the Portland area. Its name will strike you UK folks as odd, funny, or inappropriate. It’s called The Shag. Maybe they have other senior beneficial “activities” that they aren’t disclosing in the commercial. Anyway, whenever the workload around here gets a little much, one of us will say, “It’s time for the Shag.” After today’s dust up, I think the Shag is in order…as a retirement option, and not as an activity ;-)
