Day 15 Rhine Route

60 km Rotterdam to Hook of Holland to Den Haag. Total 1150 km over 15 days cycling.
Of course we had to end our expedition near the sea! There was a heavy shower between 9 and 11, so we took it easy, setting off when the rain stopped. Great views of the Erasmus bridge as we left, and marinas. As we got nearer the Hook of Holland, we had a very strong headwind. There were many many bikes on the bike tracks, nobody wears a helmet, except for racing bike riders, kids don’t wear helmets either. Yes, the cycle ways are fantastic, but still easy to fall, bang your head and get concussion.
At the Hook of Holland strand, we had a celebratory fish and chips and shandy. We carried on on the Coastal route north, behind the sand dunes, towards Den Haag. Den Haag was really nice, some really beautiful buildings. We had a super Italian meal, a good walk around, adding 10,000 steps to the day’s activities.
