The End of an Era
Today was my late stepmother’s funeral and the last day of my stay in St Albans. It’s so good to be back home with my lovely husband M and Ziggy the cat. I missed them so much.
My stepmother had been in poor health for some time and was aware that the end of her life was drawing near. Being a very practical lady she had left precise instructions about her funeral. She had been attending the same church for many years and they have been so supportive in helping me organise the type of service she wanted.
It all went to plan and after the funeral and lunch at the church M and I have headed back home to Norfolk. K was the last of that generation so it sort of feels like the end of an era. My brother N and I are now the oldest members of our family.
These are the flowers we chose for the graveside ceremony.
RIP K.
