Lords And Ladies

It was quite gloomy when I went out for my walk this morning - and in the bottom of the hedgerows it was pretty dark…so for this little stick of berries (Wild Arum - also known as cuckoo pint or lords and ladies) I decided to experiment with the flash on the little Lumix - the normal mode was way too bright - so I reduced the flash output as low as it would go (-2EV) and moved further away and eventually I got enough light on the subject whilst having the background almost black.

The colours are quite striking and show a nice progression of changes from green to to orange and red.

The rest of the day has been brighter and I even got towels dried out side today.
