Things are looking up
My desire to try out the route of the 50km ride I have signed up for overtook my common sense for riding in the scorching sun this afternoon. Idiot.
I made it in 2h58m, but needed to take a combined 16 mins of rest breaks as there were a couple of climbs that totally knobbled me. I bought a 2l Camelbak in the week and on my return I found out it was empty apart from the water in the tube!! I had also drained both bottles too, so that purchase has paid off already.
I have seen such an improvement in my fitness over the last three weeks and can identify points on routes where I am finding it a lot easier - this getting back into cycling plan is working out well. A shorter, flatter route in the cooler evening tomorrow though I think
Jnr Snr is out socialising, Mrs H is watching Star Wars, Jnr Jnr is listening to Lazy Town songs (hence the slightly grumpy face here as I asked her to come outside so I had something to Blip) and I am aching like buggery. I feel an evening of Dexter ahead.....I only got round to starting Series 1 last week and am hooked.
