Gatehouse at Longwood Park

During the war the Longwod estate was requisitioned by the War Office and American Forces were billeted in Longwood House. The house was never in private use again, became derelict, and was demolished in between 1963 and 1967.

This gatehouse and a large mid-Victorian walled garden remain.

I walked through here back in February, when the cherry trees were in full blossom.
