Why Can't We Be Friends?

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Jasper got along pretty well with Dave. Generally there was no trouble unless Dave (always an enthusiastic fellow) gave Jasper a fright. 

Crashy is a different story. He's too deferential and Jasper senses weakness. As a result, he's always trying to assert dominance which makes Crashy run away and then Jasper chases.

We have to run interference a lot. As you can see it seems to be yielding results. Here we have peace in the living room, although Crashy is still wary. 

I think we'll have to ensure Jasper's intimidation is always short-circuited. It's easy to do, I just have to walk between them and gently shoo Jasper away. But also we need the adorable little orange fluffball to stand up for himself a bit more.
