Hastings parkrun and swim on pirate day

Hastings parkrun was a 2.5k out and back, fairly flat with good tarmac surface, well marshalled parkrun. We ran along a shared cycle/footpath along the seafront promenade.  There was a couple of silly runners, who managed to run in the path of a cyclist, and some initial congestion. However, we had cloud when the wind was behind us and a welcome sea breeze when we turned as the sun came through the clouds. So, not too hot to run. I managed a 30:58 time, which bodes well for my pacing next week.

To cool off I went for a lovely post-parkrun swim. The sea could not have been more perfect.

Then off to the old town for breakfast and people watching. It was Pirate Day. Who knew that there was such a thing?
