An ordinary life....

Raindrops keep falling...

Last Monday I made an appointment with Linda to come and cut my hair today and she said she'd be here around midday.  When she hadn't appeared by 12.30pm I texted her to make sure she was ok.  Turns out she put my appointment in her diary for next Monday and was currently in Fife.  I was looking forward to getting a couple of inches chopped off but I am free next Monday so not a problem.

After lunch spent time in the studio working on more sketches for Mairi's commission and also cleaned and prepped some slates.  One slate has a ridge pattern across the middle that looks like a mountain so going to paint a sea and mountain scene on that one.

Crocheted a little more of the baby blanket and made a final decision (I think :-) for the dinner menu for Saturday night.  Hoping we might be able to sit in the garden to eat so going with easy picnic food - spiced chicken drumsticks, Italian meats, orzo pesto salad, green salad, pate, hummus, melon, feta and mint salad, cheese board and crusty bread.   Just need to get the shopping list written.

David spent ages brushing Lola this morning and she was looking gorgeous.  After a rain shower this afternoon I went into the garden to get my blip and breathe in the lovely after-the-rain scents.  Lola of course followed me and when I headed back into the house a short time later, she emerged from the bottom of the garden absolutely filthy!  Oops!  She was marched straight to Lola Land (her wee enclosed corner of the garden) to be hosed down, dried and brushed all over again!

Realised this evening that it's next week we are off to Wales!  Can't believe August will be upon us next week!   Thought I had another week to get organised!  Looking forward to it though :-)
