Claret Jug

Passing across Edinburgh's St Andrews Square this afternoon we navigated around the Open Championship promotional activities, putting, professional tuition etc, but then this caught my eye. The opportunity to be photographed with the Championship trophy the "Claret Jug" itself was too tempting to miss.

I'm sure that this is one of several replicas although the chap in the tent assured me that this was the one which will be presented next weekend.

There is something irresistible about close proximity to a famous trophy. A few years ago I got just as close to the Calcutta Cup (very impressive) and if Hibs can overcome their Scottish Cup allergy perhaps the local set could be completed.
