Raising the bridge
We were in Härnösand today picking up the spare part for our camper van from the paint shop. That may sound strange but such is the world of delivery companies. As well as the door latch we ended up with several wallpaper sample books for Jan’s projects. So much beautiful paper saved from the recycling centre!
As we drove away we realised the bridge was about to be opened. We nipped across it to Lidl and while Jan went shopping I went to the bridge to get this picture. It’s historic in its own way because at the end of the summer the bridge will be closed and demolished. For two years we’ll use a temporary bridge that won’t open for the boats and then the new bridge will swing aside for boats, as did the very first bridge built in the 1800’s.
After this we headed off to Sundsvall and TaiChi.
In the evening I removed the broken “soft close” mechanism from the camper van sliding door and replaced it with the original simple door catch. So that replaced a mechanism costing about £700 with a much simpler solution costing about £7. Sometimes you wonder…
Really great to be back at TaiChi but I’ll write about that another day.
