The Temple of Venus

You've seen it before but this time it's in summer before the harvest. The crop on the slope in front of the folly is something of a mystery. It's turning colour like the wheat is, but it's not a grain. I wonder if it's a cover crop of some kind that will be turned over into the soil to add nutrients. Wheat is growing on the flat land in front of the ridge.

A slightly sad occasion for me as I didn't take Basil with me today. The general consensus is that my walks are too long for him. He doesn't complain but you can't really tell. Otherwise, a quiet day. Pleasant weather. Not hot, not cold and enough clouds to make the sky interesting.
