Better Late Than Never

It was dull and breezy this morning, but I was in need of fresh air and exercise . It was such a treat to get two overdue year ticks. One was a little owl, which stubbornly sat with its back to me - so no photo there. The other was this gorgeous Yellowhammer, which serenaded me for several minutes from its perch on some telegraph wires. 
I also saw several butterflies. A Red Admiral (extras) was the first one, followed by several Meadow Browns, a couple of Ringlets, a solitary Large Skipper, and some very flighty Wall Browns.
