Kerguelen Petrel ( again)

This is a closeup of the petrel I blipped last week. It is eating well, and loves it’s swims. You can see the nasal tubes that allow the bird to swallow salt water, and then the salt is excreted through these tubes. It also aids in the bird finding food, by smell.
Out of interest the Kerguelen Islands are a French Dependency in the lower Indian Ocean- right down near Antarctica. According to Mr google there are about 120 people live there!!!! (Some useless information!!)
