Castles in the sky

In Carcassonne and today the mercury goes stratospherically off the scale. The morning is hot blue-skied in a way that clamours for words beyond 'stunning'. We play French Classic FM with the windows open wide. Adagio for Strings is beautiful. After a sweltering boat trip on the Canal du Midi, we shower, change, sweat once again, and head out for dinner. Early evening and it's still sweltering on the walk up to the Cité. It's kinda Disney, but impressive nonetheless. The night is suffocating, but the geckos must like it.
