70 + year old Clematis
This plant is my absolute favorite! Not because it's pretty, which it is, but because my earliest memories of going to my grandma's house are of this plant. It grew on a trellis along the side of her house, next to the side door. She had flowers everywhere, & a small garden, more flowers, & raspberry bushes in the back yard. My dad remembered this clematis plant being there before he was in high school. After my grandpa died & my dad & uncles wanted her to move, the only plant she didn't want to leave behind was this clematis plant. She split it in 2, & left half for the new owners & took half to her new home. Years later, when my husband & I married & bought a house, my grandma, at the age of 85, went out & split it again & gave me half! It's grown outside our house for the past 26 years & every year it blooms It brings back such wonderful memories! :)
