Barra and South Uist
Prawn (langoustine) creels at Eoligarry jetty and the jetty itself. Now overlooking Castlebay in low late evening sun.
Earlier we backtracked to Howmore on South Uist’s west coast. Salmon and sea trout leaping in the bridge pool. Five chapel remains charting early Christianity on the Uists. And a bonus of a short-eared owl quartering the moor behind.
Taking it all in is quite the job but someone has to do it. Vatersay so different from Barra with its windblown sand hummocky hills.
Another day of exploring tomorrow and then back to Edinburgh and italy sweltering in its first heatwave. 15C is so pleasant and the sun still burns bright when out here.
