Enjoying the surrounding area

Many ups and downs today, as in steps and slopes. A dry morning with a walk to Byers Road and Kelvin Grove area via the footpath through the botanical gardens. The atmosphere was happy go lucky with dogs and people doing what both do when out together.  We had a so so decaf coffee with a lovely pizza with a good salami topping on a focaccia base, it was good. Apparently we walked 8 kms, gardening must be easier, wandering the streets enjoying the Sunday feel to it all. We crossed over or passed by many interesting sites, a favourite is the ivy covered bicycle in extra.

This afternoon I phoned to book a table at a Mother India restaurant near by, 15 minutes walk from here, by now it is raining, this looked closer than Mother India cafe, a favourite place to visit. The restaurant apologised saying it is full tonight only later we received a call to ask ‘are you still looking for a table’?. We booked, slightly mystified although on arrival we met Indian families emerging from the restaurant dressed beautifully, it was a pleasure to stand in the rain and wait. On entering we were told it was a 100 birthday party, the management didn’t know what time it was finishing.  Later the manager found out it was due to finish at 6.00pm, hence the phone call. We had a wonderful meal with a lovely young woman looking after us. With only a handful of customers to look after she had time to chat which proved to be interesting.  The rain has stopped and a dry walk back to pusscat who is now sat between us.
