First beans

A visit to the allotment was again depressing as more slug damage. Also something seems to have caused several big Cosmos plants to die? However despite my runner beans being pathetic compared to previous years( see extra)  I picked four beans!

We had the family to lunch…lovely roast pork cooked by my husband while I took Libby for a walk. Lots of activity on the river today including the annual dragon boat races which last all day. We can hear the thumping of the drums from our house and some of the announcements plus music! Good to see lots of bees on the thistles where I was walking by the river. No good photos of bees or boats though!

Lots of sport to watch…test match cricket..Eng beat WI, Open golf and Tour de France. Not long to the Olympics.
