Race to the end
Still had a few bits and pieces to unpack and sort out since coming home, including some plants, believe it or not! A little plant of a small-leaved African Violet from my sister, a pot of Maurandya barclayana and some seedlings of Impatiens somethingorother from my brother. (Impatiens racemosa, as he tells me!) So these were potted and recorded on my database.
The last week has seen a visit from the yachts of the 'Clipper Round the World' race. I missed them coming in last week but wanted to see them depart today on their last leg, to Portsmouth. We drove down to Ganavan where we waited until 3pm when they were to leave from Dunstaffnage, just round the corner. There were eleven of them and they were fairly far out, so we were too far away to see any drama. The local lifeboat accompanied them out of the bay.
