Long Causeway

On a run on the moors above Rochdale today I ended up on the Long Causeway. An interesting name for a pack horse route, as the nearest river or body of water would have been some distance away.

However, I kind of got lost following it, so it was the cause of my run being the long way.


It could be the long course way I suppose.

The Pennines are the backdrop to Rochdale, and while I know the next set of hills and paths like the back of my hand, these further north are less familiar.

Walked here in Covid, finally came back to run it.

Great views, even over to Hollingworth Lake - start of BBC1s THE JETTY.
