The hurling

It's serious!
Today there is a All Ireland Hurling Final final and Cork is in it! The first time for for hundreds of years and they are against Clare!  Everywhere is bedecked in the Cork colours of red and white and the papers are full of it!  I'm cheating for in my North Kerry jaunt I fitted in a visit to a holy well (no surprise there) which was having its annual mass and I presume the little lad had parked his hurley  next to the collection box whilst mass was going on.
For those of you unfamiliar with hurling (like me) I can't begin to explain what happens but there are mercifully few rules, a massive pitch, some fearsome hurleys and a very small sliotar (a ball). It's one of the oldest team games in the world, as played by Cuchulain himself, one of the great heroes of Irish mythology.
There are backblips of my adventures should you care to peruse and I am having a very quiet time today!
Action!
