Blue kangaroos

These were so cold they all turned blue. I imagine the staff member at the gate will have cold feet by the end of her shift. 

Bathurst has a 2 week long winter festival with rides, stalls and light shows after dark. The main attraction is the skating rink which is pretty funny to watch. The level of expertise was low, most people have to hang onto the railing or a baby kangaroo. No one here owns skates so you hire a pair and there is a 40 minute session and 20 minute break for changeover. One little girl pushing her sister was one of the better people. Lots of waving arms to get balance and heaps of falls.  They all seemed to be having fun. No I didn’t have a go, falling on my knee would be the worst thing I could do to it. 

I went up with Maddy and Leo and we had a ride in the Ferris Wheel and they went on the Sizzler ( it used to be called a Cha Cha). We saw Bryan, Kristy and the cousins there. For once the sun was out but it was cold with a fierce wind blowing, 

For morning tea I made some of Walking Wombat’s date scones. They were too moist and I ended up with an almighty mess trying to cut them and get them on the tray. They tasted ok of course, just looked wrong.
