The Blusher

Amanita rubescens. You can just see the flesh turning pink where the cap and the stem have been damaged. Approx 10cm across the cap and growing in mixed woodland.

One of the family that contains some deadly mushrooms. This one is edible when cooked but poisonous raw - needless to say, I won't be trying it!
