A view from the boundary
A view from the boundary is what interviews with special guests on BBC radio's Test Match Special is called. I was listening to TMS - England playing the second Test against the West Indies at Trent Bridge - when I drove to Guildford Cricket Club this afternoon to pick up my daughter who had been on a 13 Mile charity walk with one of her old work friends. The Walk started and finished at the cricket club which I believe hosts the Surrey County Championship team occasionally when they venture away from The Oval. So this is the view from the boundary there. Whilst I was watching, a batter hit a magnificent 6 with a sweep off a spin bowler. The bowler was replaced by another spinner who looked quicker and started his run-up with both arms out wide. Needless to say he got a wicket in his first over.
