After push-mowing around the veggie garden this morning, I did more deadheading and weeding. Picked a tomato too :) Then I hung out in the shade on the deck, until I saw an orange butterfly fluttering around the dock weed on the banking. A monarch! Inside I went to grab my camera • Back to the deck • Soon after I saw an orange butterfly dancing over the butterfly garden. At first I thought it was the same monarch, but then wondered, what if it isn’t? I wandered over and for the first time ever, I saw a Great Spangled Fritillary!! He moved between this orange butterfly weed and swamp milkweed. The female is black with yellow, but no sightings of her • While mesmerized by the GSF two clearwing hummingbird moths visited, as did both hummers :) • Back to the deck I go to catch my breath and cool off. Then, a Yellow Tiger Swallowtail floated by!! • I’m in love and so happy butterflies are free • Peace & Love
