Miss Whillmott’s Ghost
A day at Haddo House again. Slightly different wander around because we brought Kara’s scooter with us which allows us to cover much more distance and at a faster pace (nice for us long legged parents).
Jen spotted this thistle in the gardens. Thanks the iPhone photo AI thingy (technical term) I found it is Eryngium giganteum. Also know as Miss Willmott's ghost because, according to the Royal Horticultural Society, “after the nineteenth-century gardener, Ellen Willmott, who liked to secretly scatter seeds of the plant in other people's gardens”. I think that’s brilliant!
