Eilean Mor (again)

Today Cathleen and I ( and the dogs) went on the annual organised trip to  Eilean Mor MacCormick, which is arranged by the Trust which is responsible for the island.  I became a Trustee late last year, so this was my first visit since then, though my fourth in total.  Images from some of the others are in this journal - starting here - and on my Flickr feed.    Some more from this trip are also on Flickr .

The weather was very poor today - calm but very wet.  In fact it didnt stop raining the whole time we were there.

None the less it was as interesting and atmospheric as ever and I include a few extra photos, including of the buildings, ,the chapel window ,  David Wolfe explaining one of the gravestones,, Tayvallich, the island’s distinctive  cross and of a boat that whizzed past when were at that  particular spot which turned out to be HMS Magpie, one of the Royal Navy's smallest vessels.

I also took my wee drone with me and although the rain hindered getting much from it, the main blip is a drone shot taken  at the island jetty,    This is the boat which services the island the island from Tayvallich though its usually job is providing the Jura passenger ferry.
