WHAT A GREY DAY

A bit late going into town this morning because our meat delivery from Higginsons was unusually late - this is due to the Cartmel Races really as Dom also has to deliver there as well.  Still we made it.  It was unusually quiet for a Saturday.

The quiet is due to the road closure of a tiny section of Kents Bank Road that links Grange to Allithwaite and beyond.  It has caused so many problems.  Fair enough the work has to be done, it's all part of the Lido restoration work and having to link up electricity there, but there should  have been notifications and diversions put in place and we had none of that, suddenly early Thursday morning they just closed it for a whole week!!!  It's OK if like us you are local but any holiday makers or delivery vans and lorries won't know which way to go.   Aah well only another week and it will, hopefully be done.  It has been affecting businesses though as they've lost a lot of trade, which is not great under the current climate

We did manage to have our tasty brunch though, even if a little late and whilst hubby picked up the papers from station newsagents I went for a little walk out onto the marshes - not beyond it though, just on the paths through the marshes to take a couple of photos.

It's very close today and very grey but at least it is not currently raining.

Do take care everyone and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
