Gold medal auntie
This weekend is the 'Seerosenfest' here in Kettwig (seerosen = waterlillies) and so down beside the river there are a collection of rather smart tents that have been taken over by local restaurants (including the two Michelin starred ones) and all are offering sample/taster menus with most dishes costing about 9? . We (expats) thought it the prefect idea to meet up to eat and drink on a summer Friday evening. The children were able to run about without us needing to stress about cars or them falling in the river (it's fenced at this point) and we were free to relax and enjoy ourselves. The only thing that was really missing was simple German fest food that the children would prefer - not a bratwurst or pommes stand in sight.
