Obituary
Birds fly...round the chapel windows,
As parting memories will not efface.
And words are softly formed,
In gestures...of this sacred place.
Eyes fall...afraid to catch the vision,
Of all those un-relinquished pains.
This place...this mold of men,
Beneath a roof...of time-worn stains.
Stately...so like a sentinel on guard,
With grandeur to the cause.
And through the years...tired souls,
Could worship God...and pause.
Angel choirs...oft heard from rafter heights,
Are hushed and stilled from blending rhymes.
While breezes from familiar haunts,
Bid farewell...in broken chimes.
Ah...yes...sweet sentiments will rise,
As blue...filtering pools will seek.
An over-flow on bier...releasing,
Tears for every cheek.
